Young Toby Beckett had a fabulous weekend in the U15Bronze Warwickshire tournament on Saturday 3rd March 2018 Taking home a couple of medals.

They needed a plough to get through the snow to the U15Bronze Warwickshire tournament at St Nicolas’s Park in Warwick. After getting out of his box by winning the two games to 3 and 10, he took on Pranav Somarjan in the first round of the knock-out and won 21-5. Through to the semis, he had to push himself hard, as he faced the number two seed which happened to be his doubles partner Harry Jones. Toby focused and worked hard to maintain a short lead, winning 21-15. Through to the final to take on Fergal Tomlinson the number one seed. Putting up a strong fight Toby lost 21-16. Giving Toby the his first medal for the weekend in the form of a well deserved Silver.

Toby and Harry joined forces in the doubles winning their two round robin games to 9 and 5. Straight into the Quarter finals of the knock out, saw them take on George Bannister and Luka Stanley (local boys from Warwickshire) beating them 21-5. Semi finals saw Fergal Tomlinson (singles number 1 seed) pair up with Jason Vincent, to form the doubles number two seeds. Beating the number 21-10, they were through to the mens doubles final. Jason Arya (Warwickshire) and Izaak Smith (Buckinghamshire), were a strong pair but Toby and Harry worked together to win 21-19, giving the both a Gold medal.
