Jasmine Owen – Great Orme U17 Gold

Great Orne U17 Gold – 07.10.2017 – Jasmine Owen

After a tough Month of training Jasmine was ready for her second event of the season.

In the singles Jasmine won her group with ease, beating Elen Parry 15-5,15-2 and Raavi Sharma 15-5 and 15-9. This led to a tough semi-final against the ever-improving Freya Cottrill. Jasmine worked hard throughout this match which was much tougher than the final scores show. Winning 15-7, 15-10. This put Jasmine in the right frame of mind for an intense final that was to follow against Carys Jones. This match was as tight as everybody expected with Carys winning the first set 10-15, before Jasmine replied in the second set 15-11. The deciding set went all the way before Jasmine dug deep to take the title 16-14.

Jasmine paired up with Jessica Ding for the doubles, winning the final 15-13, 15-10 against Carys and Freya.

With Jasmines usual partner unable to make it up to the Great Orme Jasmine teamed up with fellow West Wales Regional Academy player Arnav Patil. They took the title beating Alfie Moorcroft & Carys Jones 15-13, 15-8.

The very well organised and well Run Great Orme Gold tournament was thoroughly enjoyed by Jasmine with 3 events and 3 gold medals. The season was looking positive with Jasmine playing well.
